SCM U Craiova stopped Peja′s run

SCM U Craiova recorded another win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The Romanians hosted KB Peja and took the victory by a score of 85-75 in a hard fought game. The match was close from start to finish but with good play in the second and third quarters the hosts took the win. After this round Craiova has 6 victories and 7 defeats while Peja is now at 6-6 and as the team′s run of four straight wins was stopped.
 
Craiova led for most of the first quarter but couldn′t built a big enough lead. The visitors scored the last four points of the quarter and cut their deficit to just one. In the second quarter the hosts once again had the lead but in the middle of it the visitors tied the score. Craiova responded with 5 straight points but the next 7 were for Peja and the team moved in front. Then the went up by 3 points but the last 9 of the first half were for Craiova and the team took the lead in to the break.
 
In the third quarter the visitors cut the deficit to 3 but with a 9-0 run for Craiova they went up by double digits. It went down but by scoring the last 4 points of the quarter, the hosts led by 10 at the end of it. With less than four minutes to go Peja closed the gap to 4 points and missed two attempts to cut it even more. That was enough for Craiova as the hosts scored 4 points and that secured the win.
 
Travis Bureau was the top performer for the winners with 22 points and 7 rebounds. LeVar Seals added 14 points as 13 scored Mirko Kovac.
 
24 points apiece for the visitors had Samir Shaptahovic and Teo Simovic.
