BC Galil Gilboa defeated SCM U Craiova in overtime thriller

BC Galil Gilboa recorded a very difficult home win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The current champions hosted SCM U Craiova and were victorious 85-78 in overtime thriller. Galil lost its lead in the last quarter but in the end managed to take the win in the extra five minutes. With this result Galil now has 8-4 record while Craiova is at 6-8 as both teams have 20 points.    The match started very even in the first few minutes but a 12-0 run for the hosts gave them a 10-point lead which they held after the end of the first quarter. In the second Galil kept their advantage which was cut down to 6 points once but at the half it became 9.    With four minutes played in the third quarter the visitors manage to tie the score. Then both teams exchanged baskets but Galil responded with 8 straight points. Craiova scored a singled free throw but the last five points of the quarter were for the hosts who went up by 12. Galil continued to lead in the last quarter as well as with three minutes to go they were up by 11 points. However until the end Craiova made an 11-0 run and tied the score with a triple shortly before the buzzer. Then in the first three minutes of the overtime Galil started with an 11-1 run which decided the outcome.   DeShawn Sims was the top performer for the hosts with 26 points and 10 rebounds as Gerald Robinson had 21 points and 7 assists.   For the visitors Mirko Kovac finished with 22 points as Sten Sokk had 15 and 5 assists.
