Great comeback win for Balkan in Romania

BC Balkan recorded its fourth straight win in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team visited SCM U Craiova and won 96-91 after a great last quarter when they scored 37 points. The visitors were down by 11 after 30 minutes but managed to overcome the deficit and take the win. It even gives Balkan a chance to fight for one of the top two positions in the standings as they now have 7 victories and 5 defeats and are just win behind Levski and Sigal Prishtina. SCM U Craiova on the other side now have 6-9 record and their chances are very slim. Next week Balkan will host BC Galil Gilboa while Craiova′s next match is after 14 days against KB Sigal Prishtina.
 
Balkan started great the game and scored the first 8 points. The Greens continued to have the lead until the end of the quarter but at the start of the second the hosts made a 7-0 run to take the lead for the first time. Until end of the half both teams exchanged leads as none could take a big advantage.
 
The second half started better for Craiova but with good shooting by Martin Marinov the visitors cut the deficit to just 1 point. The hosts though responded by scoring the next 7 to take an 8-point advantage. Balkan cut it to 5 but Craiova finished the quarter with 6 straight to take the lead by 11. With less then four minutes to play Marinov scored a triple to cut the deficit to just 2 points. Then Craiova made a mistake and Marinov scored another triple to give his team the lead. Then Balkan continued to score and made a 12-0 run to move in front by 7 points. It was decisive as in the last three minutes the visitors kept their lead and won.
 
Top performers for Balkan were Martin Marinov with 20 points, with 6 triples. and Noah Dahlman with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
 
For the hosts Travis Bureau had 23 points as James Tyler added 17.
