KK Kumanovo 2009 lost away to Levski and by this lost the quarterfinal series in EUROHOLD Balkan League. However the team fought hard and had a chance but missed it. Here is what head coach Ljubisav Lukovic said after the end of the game:“First I want to congratulate Levski and their coach Titi Papazov for going to the Final 4. This is a very good team and on every position they have two very quality players. We lost the game in the last three minutes because we didn’t grab the defensive rebounds. In this match we were without our center Uros Lukovic and without our point guard Darko Radulovic who are injured. I believed in my team and for us it’s very important that the players showed character in this match and we lost only in the last three minutes.
Every season EUROHOLD Balkan League is growing and better teams from the Balkans are playing in it. Yes, we would like to play next year as well. The competition is very important to us and our young players as we grow as a team. We perform better especially in our home court in Kumanovo. The domestic league is important now and I believe in this team and the team must believe in themselves so we can grow together. For us it’s important because we play in front of the best fans in Macedonia and may be in ex-Yugoslavia. Kumani are very famous fans in the Balkans.”
