BC Kapshagay from Kazakhstan wants to be a part of EUROHOLD Balkan League

EUROHOLD Balkan League received an official request from BC Kapshagay from Kazakhstan to participate in the competition in the next season. This is a team that finished 3rd in the regular season of the local league and lost 2-3 in the semifinals of the playoffs.   The club contacted EUROHOLD Balkan League two months ago. After that there were some negotiations and earlier this week the League received an official request from the federation of Kazakhstan.   This request will be presented during the Board meeting that will take place in Sofia next week. For sure it will be a big challenge to have a team from Kazakhstan but this is a proof that they recognize the quality of the competition.   One of the issues of course will be the trip to Kazakhstan. The League has the responsibility to support the Balkan teams and a solution will be found. Mr. Assen Christov - Executive Director and Mr. Shay Shtriks - Sports Director will fly there to meet the local people plus to search for a potential partner for the League.   Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world. The champions Astana are playing in VTB League while the 2nd and 4th place teams - Barsy Atyrau and Kaspiy Aktau are participants in the Baltic League.
