The Board meeting of EUROHOLD Balkan League took place in Sofia

Today in Sofia took place the Board meeting of EUROHOLD Balkan League. At it were present 11 different participants from the federations members of the competition.   The Board officially accepted Albania to be a new member of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The champion Vllaznia will play in the competition the next season.   At the Board meeting was presented also the request by the federation of Kazakhstan for possible participation of BC Kapshagay in the tournament. It was decided that the League will present all its official rules and requirements for participation and if a confirmation is received that they will be fulfilled, the club will be able to be a part of EUROHOLD Balkan League for season 2014/2015.    It was given a deadline to all federations until 10th of June to sent their proposals for participating teams for the tournament. When this is done, the exact system of competition will be determined. The only certain thing is that it′s not going to be a league system but it will be a group phase which format will depend of the number of the teams.   Depending on the system of competition and the number of participating teams, a calender will be made together with the different federations and local league. The decision is that the new season in EUROHOLD Balkan League will not start later than 8th of October.   Due to the minumim interest from the clubs, it became clear that there will be no Women Balkan League.   The Board officially accepted the decision to be created a Junior Balkan League. It will be held under the rules of FIBA Europe and will be for Men U 18 - born after 01.01.1997. EUROHOLD Balkan League will prepare separate rules and requirements which will be sent to the different federations. Then they will sent requests by teams and according to their number will be decide how the tournament to be organized. A decision was made also to invite Turkish teams in the competition.
