Season preview: SCM U Craiova

For second straight season Romania will be represented by SCM U Craiova in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team was the last inclusion for the upcoming campaign but that doesn′t mean that they will not fight for top spots.

Andjelko Mandic is back as a head coach as he started last season as well but was replaced later. He has a lot of experience in the team and will try to lead his players to perform good.

The new point guard is Nikola Otovic who will run the team′s offense and try to develop himself. He will share his minutes with two Romanians in Dragos-Mihai Andrei and Catalin Petrisor but Otovic′s the one the board will count on.

On the backcourt there are two very experienced players like Uros Velickovic and Nikola Vucurovic. They have deadly three-point shooting and if a night goes well they can kill any opponent with that. Andrei Damian and Cristian-Florin Corneau will most likely get some playing time in that positions and will look to earn as much minutes as possible.

Under the basket Craiova will count a lot on three players - Zoran Krstanovic, Travis Bureau and Milivoje Bojovic. They have both the experience and the quality to make the life tough of every opponent down low. Szabolcz Santa has the size of 214 cm and he should come of the bench but he lacks the quality of the other and isn′t likely to play much.

SCM U Craiova will start with home game on October 21st against Kozuv and will look to win in front of its home fans. Then of course the first goal will be to qualify for the Second stage and then try to go even further.
