Sigal Prishtina keeps Vllaznia winless

KB Sigal Prishtina recorded fourth win in group B of EUROHOLD Balkan League after downing KS Vllaznia 88-78 away. This was fifth defeat in a row for the Albanians while Sigal is now automatically qualified for the Second Stage of the competition as they cannot be worse than 4th in the group. The visitors started strong, managed to build a big lead in the first ten minutes and until the end held off their opponents. This was Vllaznia′s last game for 2014 while next week Sigal will host Mornar.   A 10-0 run in the first quarter gave Sigal a 9-point lead as the team continued to have a good advantage until the end of the ten minutes. Shortly after the start of the second quarter the lead went up to 14 but Vllaznia made 13-2 run to cut the deficit to just three points. Until the end of the first half the teams stayed close and everything had to be decided after the break.   A 6-0 start of the second half gave Sigal a double digit lead but the hosts quickly cut the deficit to 4. However this was the closest they got as the visitors controlled their advantage as it was 7 after 30 minutes. It went down to 4 once again in the final quarter but still Vllaznia coudln′t make the next step and come closer. An 8-0 run for Sigal increased the advantage to 12 points with less than 6 minutes to play but once again the hosts didn′t give up and cut the deficit to 4. In the end though Sigal didn′t miss and they took away the victory.   The difference in the game was the more aggressive offense of Sigal as the visitors scored 14 of 19 free throws while the hosts were just 6 of 8.   Dardan Berisha was once again the top scorer for Sigal with his 29 points while Edin Bavcic also played well with 23 points and 9 rebounds.   For the home team Mirza Sarajlija had a very good performance with 29 points and 12 assists as Nemanja Gavrancic had 15 points and 14 rebounds.
