Kumanovo won a thriller in Niksic to start 2015

Year 2015 in EUROHOLD Balkan League started the way most of 2014 was going - with another thrilling game. In Niksic KK Kumanovo 2009 visited KK Sutjeska and won 86-83 after a hard fought match at the end. The visitors led for most of the time but the hosts never gave up and both teams offered an interesting battle. However in the final minutes Kumanovo did better and won this important match. After this result they are now tied at first place with 4 wins and 2 losses while Sutjeska is now with 3-4 record. Next week Kumanovo will host Teodo while Sutjeska willl visit Teodo in the last week.

Kumanovo started well by scoring the first 6 points and later went up 18-6. Sutjeska however managed to cut their deficit until the end of the first quarter and it finished only 4 points in favour of the visitors. In the second quarter Kumanovo started the same way as the first and took an 11-point advantage. The hosts however responded with 10-2 run to cut the deficit to only 3 points and it remained the same at the break.

In the second half both teams continued to fight hard and kept exchanging leads. However with a minute and a half to play Kumanovo managed to go up by 9 points and despite the fact Sutjeska closed to 1 with less than 10 seconds, there wasn′t time for more.

Aleksandar Kostoski was the top performer for the winners with 23 points and 7 assists. Uros Lukovic added 17 points and 5 blocks while Vukasin Mandic had 16 points and 7 rebounds.

For the home team Nemanja Vranjes finished as top scorer with 20 points. Nikola Pavlicevic added 15 points as Radosav Spasojevic added 12.
