Tome Glavchev, president of KK Kozuv: We are full with positive impressions from the Balkan League

Tome Glavchev is the president of KK Kozuv - the only unbeaten team in EUROHOLD Balkan League this season. He is the main reason behind the success of the club from Gevgelija in the last few seasons and he is a person that loves basketball. A few days ago his team defeated KK Sutjeska in a wild game and after that Mr. Glavchev gave an interview for EUROHOLD Balkan League:

"It was really a stressful game in which I think we entered a bit more relaxed. We met an interesting and hard opponent. Sutjeska left us a very good impression and at one moment I already had accepted that this would be our first defeat this season but we managed to make a comeback and win. We tightened up the defense in the last minutes, we managed to come close, to take the lead and at the end to take the victory.

I have positive thinking about EUROHOLD Balkan League. You know that in previous two season we cannot say something good for some positive results. But ok, the first season is let′s just say a first season. Practically we didn′t qualify for one basket. In the second season our results were bad but Balkan League has an interesting system and is an interesting competition in which there are many quality teams participating, the organization is at a high level and this gives us positive moments - no difference whether we are first or last, as we were last season. We are full with positive impressions from that competition.

You know that the basketball, and the other sports, are played because of the people. You saw it yourself - the people in the gym were our sixth player and I′m not sure that we would′ve made this that we that if it wasn′t for their support.

The standings itself, as we are first in the Second Stage, for us is a big success. I hope that in the next games our players, who are eager to prove themselves, will give everything they have and may be we are going to play in the final.

I love all sports, not only basketball. A little over 20 years ago I was with one interesting handball team from our city but we didn′t achieve a lot. After that there was a period of silence and we raised Kozuv from third league. This is like life is - you move forward as long as it not hurts.

Our ambition is to have a compact team that will have support from our fans, to have correct relations with our players and to be here - in EUROHOLD Balkan League, and of course to perform well in our local league and in the Cup. We are going to fight and work in the future. We have big support from our Municipality. The Mayor is with us and they give us some solid help. In the same way there are some other businessmen from here around who have an interest to be present in basketball. I hope this will not stop - we are optimistic.

We also made a new gym only for practice. It′s a smaller object than the one we are playing in. We started making it two years ago with the idea to have our training sessions there, to have more space and to be able to work individually and it makes our life easier. In Gevgelija there is one other basketball team - they have teams in the youth categories, Kozuv also and the gym is busy. This is why we wanted to build our own one to be at disposal for all teams.

First af all I want to wish a lot of health and success to our friends from the Balkan League. I also would wish to our team to advance forward and all the players to be healthy. And basketball is a wonderful and interesting sport - you saw what 20 seconds can bring. First a lot of health, a lot of success and the rest will come. And this is what sport is for - you can lose some time, you cannot win every game. The monotony can kill you."
