Good defense leads SCM U Craiova to win in Peja

SCM U Craiova recorded a nice victory in group C of the Second Stage of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team visited the leaders KB Peja and won 67-60 after leading from start to finish. The visitors played a great defense and at the end Ivan Bosnjak made very important three-pointers. After this round Peja keeps leading the group with 3 wins and 1 defeat while Craiova is tied with Kumanovo for second position with 2-2.

Craiova started the game playing very good defense and with 6-0 run went up by 7 points. The visitors continued to play good until the end of the first quarter which ended with 10 points in their favour. The superb performance by the Romanians went in to the first six minutes of the second half as they started on 12-2 run to go up by 20 points. Peja however finished the half on 9-3 and cut the deficit to 12 after 20 minutes.

In the third quarter Craiova kept their advantage and were holding on to the double digit lead. Shortly after the start of the last the visistors′s advantage went to 13 points but Peja made a 9-0 run and came back in the game closing the gap to 4 points. With 2.56 to play the lead was cut to 1 but then Ivan Bosnjak scored a very important three-pointer. Then Mario Austin made a mistake and Bosnjak scored another triple to take his team′s lead to 7. The hosts however scored quick four points and with only 1.18 to play the difference was only 3. Craiova though scored the next 8 points and that decided the outcome.

Djordje Micic had 15 points for the winners while 14 points apiece Milivoje Bozovic and Radomir Marojevic.

For the home team Alban Veseli had 13 points while Janou Rubin added 11.
