Weekly preview: The first position in group C still to be decided

We are in the last week of the Second Stage of EUROHOLD Balkan League and we have three games before the playoffs. First we are going to have two games from group D and then on Wednesday the last game from group C.

First in group C we have KB Sigal Prishtina hosting BC Rilski Sportist in a game for the second place in the group. The home team is one win ahead in the standings and can secure that spot with a win or a defeat up ot 23 points. That means that the home team will have a big chance to do it and will play more relaxed. On the other side Rilski is coming to this match knowing they have to win by 24 points to reach the second position. This task is surely a difficult one but the team from Samokov will try to do it. Even if they fail to reach that big difference Rilski will want to enter with a win the playoff stage.

The other game from this group sees KK Sutjeska hosting KK Kozuv with both teams knowing their final position in the group. Sutjeska is surely out from the competition but the Niksic team is going to want to finish off its debuting season with a victory. Kozuv on the other side got what they wanted last week when the win in Samokov qualified them for the semifinal. Surely this will make the team more relaxed, ans as both teams will be, this might mean that we are going to witness an entertaining game.

The last match of this Second Stage is on Wednesday when KK Mornar is hosting KB Peja. The home side is surely out of the competition having lost its three games in this group so this game is only for a prestige. As coach Pavicevic said though, the players will be motivated and would like to finish the season in the Balkan League with a victory. The goal for Peja on the other hand is clear - to win. If they do so they are going to finish first in the group and that will qualify them for the semifinal. However if they fail to Peja will go third and will have to play a quarterfinal with the second team from the other group.
