Domestic leagues: Kumanovo beats the champions, Kozuv losing at home

KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded a very good home win at the re-start of Macedonian league. The team hosted the champions MZT Skopje and won 99-90. The home side didn′t start well and was down by 8 after ten minutes but they turned the score and at the break led by 9. MZT managed to tie the score in the 28th minute but in the last quarter Kumanovo did much better. Uros Lukovic had 20 points in the win while Marjan Janeski and Aleksandar Kostoski scored 18 points apiece.

In this same round KK Kozuv lost a thriller at home to Rabotnicki. The team from Gevgelija missed a chance to win and finally lost 86-94 in overtime. Kozuv had a 14 point lead in the third quarter but a big run by the visitors put them back in the match. At the end Milan Janjusevic had to save the game for Kozuv as he scored and it went to overtime. It started with 5-0 run for the home side but the visitors played much better and managed to overturn the score. Janjusevic had 24 points for the hosts as Filip Sepa added 17.

Kumanovo is currently fourth with 11 wins and 6 defeats while Kozuv is in 6th place with 9-9 record.
