BIBL becomes SIGAL UNIQA Balkan League

BIBL reached a 3-year-agreement with SIGAL-UNIQA, member of the Austrian based UNIQA Insurance Group
 
From season 2015-2016 BIBL will be called “SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League”. The agreement was signed by Mr. Avni Ponari, CEO of SIGAL UNIQA, also President of the Albanian Basketball Federation and Mr. Shay Shtriks, Sports Director of the BIBL.
 
BIBL is happy and proud to announce that from season 2015-2016 we have a new brand name and thus we will be called SIGAL - UNIQA Balkan League as earlier this month the management of the BIBL reached a 3-year-agreement with SIGAL-UNIQA, member of the Austrian based UNIQA Insurance Group.

The BIBL is extremely proud that company with the reputation and measurements of SIGAL UNIQA Group agreed to cooperate with our Balkan project and gave us the opportunity to be named after them for the next 3 years. It only shows and proves that even though the Balkan League is presented only on the Balkans, with our good organization and benefits to the local communities by developing the sports, we gained the trust of such a well-known brand. However, the man behind this all, with the huge efforts and belief in us and what we are doing is Mr. Avni Ponari - CEO of SIGAL UNIQA. Being also President of the Albanian Basketball Federation, Mr. Ponari is a big friend and supporter of the basketball game. He has been working tirelessly to promote the basketball not only in Albania and Kosovo where SIGAL UNIQA has the biggest share of the market, but in the entire region. Now, by overtaking the task to become part of the Balkan League as well, Mr. Ponari adds one more achievement in his anyhow very rich collection of appreciations – along with the numerous awards and positions he takes in his own country Albania and throughout Europe, he is also member of the FIBA Europe Finance Commission.
 
The season in SIGAL -UNIQA Balkan League starts on 13.10.2015 with a game in Kosovo between the teams of KB Bashkimi and KB Peja.
