Group A of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League opened up with a game in Gevgelija. The visitors KK Mornar outplayed their hosts KK Kozuv and won 79-63 after leading from start to finish. The team from Bar had advantage from the first minutes, gave it up for a short period of time but generally deserved to win. Next week Mornar will host Beroe while Kozuv will go to Prishtina and visit the champions Sigal.   Mornar had a better start to the game and in less then five minutes took a 16-6 lead. Later in the quarter the advantage went to 14 points and it was cut down to 10 at the end of it. In the second quarter the hosts started playing better and closed the gap. With 10-0 run they even managed to take the lead with less than three minutes to go to the break but Mornar responded with 6 straight points to regain the advantage. After 20 minutes the visitors were up by 3 points but still there was everything to play for in the second half.   After the break Mornar kept leading as the visitors scored 6 straight points to go up by 9. The advantage remained the same at the end of the third quarter as well and shortly after the start of the fourth it reached 12 points. Kozuv however responded with 7-0 run in less than two minutes to come back in the game but Mornar managed to hold on and restored its double digit advantage with a triple by Calic. Ratko Varda also responded with one of his own as then the hosts missed a lot of chances to cut the gap once again. The visitors took full advantage of that as later a Balsa Radunovic triple increased their lead to 11. The Varda missed and Marko Mijovic scored one of his own do decide the game with 2.30 to play.   The visitors scored 10 triples from 28 attempts compared to 6 from 14 for Kozuv which turned out to be the difference. Mornar also had 12 offensive rebounds compared to only 2 by the hosts.   Balsa Radunovic had a great debut for Mornar as he finished with 20 points and 6 rebounds.
