Peja won the battle for the first place in group B

KB Peja secured the top spot in group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team defeated KK Teodo 95-91 away and recorded their fifth win of the season. They led from start to finish and controlled the game. Both teams played very well and it nice and entertaining battle on the court. With that win Peja now have 5-1 record and hold the advantage over Teodo and Bashkimi (both with 4-3 record) which means that they will be first even with two defeats. Teodo still have one game left in the First Stage which is against Levski 2014 away.   It was a very good start for the visitors who took the early lead. They managed to make a 14-1 run which gave them 15-points advantage in little bit more than five minutes. They had the edge until the end of the first quarter which finished with difference of 12 points and it continued in the first minutes of the second. However a 9-2 run brought Teodo back to only 4 points but Peja managed to respond and go up by 8 at the break.   At the start of the second half Teodo cut the deficit to 3 points but it was the best they could do. The visitors responded with 7-0 run go take the lead to 10 and moments later scored another 7 straight points to increase the advantage to 17. After 30 minutes their lead was 16 points and it reached 20 shortly after the start of the fourth period. Peja controlled the match throughout and with 2.45 to go the lead was 15. Teodo made a final push and after a 15-2 run cut their deficit to only 3 but with only 12 seconds to play there was no time for more. In the final moments Peja made their free throws and won the match.   Peja had 15 three-pointers from 32 attempts while Teodo hit 10 of 30.   All visitors starters scored in double figures as 19 points apiece had Nenad Delic and Drilon Hajrizi.   Nikola Vucurovic finished with 22 points for the hosts while Aaron Mitchell added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
