Domestic leagues: Important win for Beroe, defeat for Levski 2014

Beroe recorded a very important win in the first round of the new year in Bulgarian league. The team from Stara Zagora defeated Cherno more 88-80 away and took an important step towards securing one of the top four positions.  

Beroe led for most of the team and by 3 after the third quarter. In the last one the team controlled the lead and with 5 straight points took it to 9 as after that there was no coming back for home side. Evrik Gary had a great game finishing with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals while Tihomir Zhelev had 18 points.  

Levski 2014 suffered an 83-98 away defeat to Rilski Sportist. The hosts made a 17-2 run in the second quarter and after that had almost no trouble in finishing with victory.   Yordan Minchev had 20 points for Levski as Evgeni Hadzhirusev added 16.  

After 14 rounds Beroe are third with 9 wins and 5 defeats while Levski are 7th with 5-9 record.
