Teodo holds on for win in Sofia
KK Teodo finished in second place in group B of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League after taking its fifth win. The team from Tivat had a good start but then a hard time to defeat Levski 2014 71-65 away. With that result the finished with 5 wins and 3 defeats, the same as Bashkimi, but have the better record between them. Levski finished fourth in the group with 2-6 record and the team will play in the Qualification Round for Top 8.
After both teams exchanged points Teodo made a great 18-1 run to go up by 18 points. The last basket in the first quarter was for the hosts but early in the second the visitors increased the advantage to 25. Then however Levski started playing better and after 20-4 cut the deficit to only 9. Until the end of the first half the margin didn′t change by much and Teodo led by 11 after scoring at the buzzer.
After the break Teodo kept leading but the difference was around 10 points so the hosts still had a chance. Then after a 7-0 run in the last quarter Levski cut it to 7 with seven minutes to go. Later with 2.27 to go Aleks Simeonov dunked to close the gap to only 5 points and after another 60 seconds Ivkov scored to cut it only to 3. In the next offense Teodo missed twice and Ivkov grabbed the ball. However he made a turnover which gave the possession back to the visitors. They used in the best possible way and scored with 14.5 seconds to go which also decided the outcome.
Ivan Zejak and Aaron Mitchell were the top scorers for the winners with 13 points apiece. Nemanja Arsic also did well with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
For the team side very good game had Evgeni Hadzhirusev with 17 points and 3 assists as Aleks Simeonov and Angel Peychinov had 13 points apiece.
