Beroe and Levski 2014 to open up the Qualification Round

BC Beroe and BC Levski 2014 will open up the Qualification Round for Top 8 in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The teams are set to meet at 16.30 hrs local time as the game will be broadcast LIVE on BNT World, BNT HD and Sportmedia.tv.

The teams played against each other three days ago with Beroe winning away in Sofia. That result proved costly for Levski′s head coach Nikolay Gospodinov who lost his job after it.

Beroe will rely again on its good team play and balanced offense to defeat The Blues. The team from Stara Zagora is using rotation of 10 players which can turn to be very important for this game. In BIBL so far the best scorers are Tihomir Zhelev and Evrik Gary who are averaging 11.0 points while Aleksandar Todorovic and Ashton Moore follow with 10.5 and 10.0 respectively. This is another proof of the fact that the danger for the opposing team can come from anybody and it′s something Beroe will want to use again today.

Levski′s big advantage can be the new head coach. Manuel Markov is familiar with the team as he was assistant to Gospodinov, but usually a change provides a spark to the team and this is the effect Levski will be looking for. The Blues will rely on Aleks Simeonov and Stanislav Slaveykov to lead their teammates as their scoring will be much needed. The first is averaging 16.3 points in seven games while Slaveykov is yet to play a good game in BIBL. Evgeni Hadzhirusev and Angel Peychinov are also playing well and it′s important that the center Krum Doychinov will perform well under the basket.

What is certain is that both teams will fight hard to win. This should give us a very interesting clash and one worth to be seen.
