Impressive Levski 2014 shocked Peja
BC Levski 2014 started the Second Stage in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League with a very impressive win. The Blues shocked KB Peja away and won 85-79 to record a great victory. The Blues led for most of the time, took a big advantage in the third quarter and held off the challenge of the home side. Next week Levski will visit Sigal Prishtina while Peja will host Kozuv.
Both teams played an even first quarter as Levski had small advantage for most of the time. However at the end of it Peja took a 1-point lead but in the second Levski again played well. The Blues managed to take a 4-point advantage and it reached 6 a bit later. Peja managed to cut some of it, even tied the score but still at the break the visitors went up by 1.
Shorty after the start of the second half Levski made 8-0 run to go up by 10 points. Later the difference reached 14 but Peja closed it to 9. Levski however responded with 5-0 run before Davis made a jumper for the hosts but still after 30 minutes the visitors led by 12. The fourth quarter started with 12-1 run for Peja who quickly closed the gap and came back in the game. The visitors though responded by scoring the next 8 points and regain?d the big lead. Peja tried to make a run and cut the deficit to 4 but then Hadzhirusev scored and this proved to be the decisive moment. In the final minute the visitors scored their free throws and recorded an impressive win.
Aleks Simeonov had a great game for the winners with 21 points 10 rebounds and 6 assists while Evgeni Hadzhirusev added 14 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Drilon Hajrizi had a good game for the hosts finishing with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as Kevin Burwell added 15 points.
