Domestic cups: Historic medal for Beroe

BC Beroe won the first ever medal in the club′s history. The team from Stara Zagora finished third in the Cup of Bulgaria tournament after beating the hosts Balkan 71-59. It was the first ever Final 4 for the team, who is a debutant in the Balkan league this season, and they managed to come away with the medal.

Balkan controlled the game in the first quarter and took a 10-point advantage but Beroe started the second with a great run of 23-0 which gave them the lead for good. They led by 12 at the break and the advantage reached 20 points in the third quarter. It was more than enough as after that Beroe controlled the difference and took the win.

Tihomir Zhelev and Aleksandar Todorovic scored 14 points for the win as Plamen Aleksiev added 12. As a team Beroe made 11 triples from 27 attempts.
