BC Beroe recorded second straight win in Group C of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Stara Zagora hosted KB Bashkimi and won 90-80 after finishing the game better in the final minutes. It capped off a great run of games for the home side as two days ago they won the bronze medal in the Cup of Bulgaria and now took another BIBL victory. With that result Beroe now has 2-1 record and have all the chances to keep fighting for the semifinals. Bashkimi on the other side suffered their third straight defeat and need to win all of their remaining matches in order to have chances of qualifying. Next week Beroe will host Mornar in another very important game while Bashkimi will visit Teodo.

After an even start the visitors took control with 10-0 run which gave them a lead of 11 points. Then Beroe started playing better and managed to cut it to 2 after ten minutes. The hosts started the second quarter on a 12-4 to finally take the advantage. Then the hosts were holding on to it and it even reached 10 points not long before the end of the first half. However it finished with two triples for the Bashkimi as the visitors cut the deficit to 4 after 20 minutes.

The second half started with Beroe scoring a triple but the visitors responded with a free throws and three straight 3-pointers to go up by 3. That didn′t scare the hosts as a bit later with the score tied they hit two straight triples as well. Beroe managed to keep that difference almost until the end of the quarter when Jones scored another triple to cut it to 3 before the final quarter.

Shortly after its start Beroe made a 6-0 run go up by 9 points which was the biggest maring in their favour until that moment. Bashkimi answered with 5 quick points and then even missed a chance to come closer. Auston Barnes took advantage of that and hit a three-pointer for the hosts and later Evrik Gary scored to take the lead to 11 with 3.01 to go. The Bashkimi missed and after Todorovic hit another triple the game was decided.

Both teams had a very good day shooting from 3-point range. The hosts hit 15 of 34 attempts for 44% while Bashkimi were 14 of 28 for 50%.

Aleksandar Todorovic had double-double for the win with 18 points and 10 rebounds while two others scored 15 points apiece - Ashton Moore and Tencho Tenchev.

Three were the main players Bashkimi tried to win the game with. Marcel Jones and Tay Waller had 24 points each while Theron Bussey scored 21. The rest of the squad scored a total of 11 points which cost them at the end.
