Kozuv downs Levski 2014 for first win
KK Kozuv recorded first win in the Second Stage in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Gevgelija hosted BC Levski 2014 in a group D game and won 99-72 after playing better in the second half. In the first both teams exchanged the two quarters and were close at the break. After it though the hosts changed gears, again took a double digit lead and this time managed to hold on to it. With that results both teams now have the same 1-2 record in the group. Next week Kozuv will visit the champions KB Sigal Prishtina while Levski will host KB Peja.
Kozuv started perfect the game and in only four minutes led 16-2. Then finally Levski started to show something but still the hosts had a big advantage of 17 points after ten minutes. In the second quarter it all changed and after the visitors started it with 21-2 run took a 2-point advantage. Then both teams exchanged baskets and after Ventsislav Petkov hit a triple at the buzzer The Blues had 1-point lead at the break.
The second half started with 11-2 run for the hosts and they took the lead again. Levski managed to cut it to 4 points but Kozuv responded with 7-0 and led by 11 after 30 minutes. Then the home side controlled the difference, didn′t allow any setbacks and instead increased the margin.
Aleksandar Radulovic was the top performer for the winners with his double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Vladimir Brckov and Stojan Gjuroski contributed with 13 points apiece.
For the visitors Evgeni Hadzhirusev, Aleks Simeonov and Ventsislav Petkov had 14 points apiece.
