Bashkimi stopped Teodo to keep its chances alive

KB Bashkimi recorded its first win in group C of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Prizren visited KK Teodo and played very good game to take 82-76 victory. It stopped Teodo′s run of three straight wins as it was the team′s first loss of the Second Stage. For Bashkimi however it was the first win and it keeps the team′s chances of going to the semifinals alive. Next week Teodo will visit Beroe while Bashkimi will host Mornar in another two very important games.

Teodo started the game great and scored the first 11 points. Then though Bashkimi responded with the same run to tie the score and later to take the lead after one quarter. The visitors led for the whole of the second period with the advantage reaching 7 early in it. The game however was close and Bashkimi had 4-point edge after 20 minutes.

Teodo bounced back after the break and  tied the score after the middle of the third quarter. Then the hosts made a 7-0 run to go up and held a 6-point lead after 30 minutes. In the middle of the fourth quarter Teodo was up by 6 points. Then Bashkimi finally answered and with 8-0 run took the lead. Vucurovic responded with a triple but then the visitors scored the next 5 points to build a 4-point advantage. Teodo had cut the lead to only two but with 40 seconds to play scored an important triple. Nemanja Arsic though answered right back with a 2 + 1 play to again cut it to 2. 25 seconds before the buzzer Waller was fouled and made both free throws. Then Teodo missed, Uzas was fouled and he made one from the line with 15 to play which sealed the final outcome.

In the absence of Marcel Jones, all Bashkimi′s players stepped up and it paid off. Tay Waller was the top scorer with 19 points while adding also 5 rebounds. Theron Bussey also played well with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals while Rokas Uzas added 17 points and 9 rebounds.

Manuel Johnson had a double-double for the hosts with 23 points and 11 rebounds as Nikola Vucurovic scored 15 points.
