On focus: Aleksej Nesovic

Aleksej Nesovic is one of the leaders of the team of Kozuv in the last two season. The guard has big experience in his career and now is trying to help the team from Gevgelija to reach second straight semifinals in the Balkan League. Here is one more different interview with Nesovic who will hope to be cleared to play against Peja tomorrow evening:

- Tell us first how did you decide to start playing basketball, at what age did you start and what are your first memories from the game?

- I was like a kid trying to play a lot of sports, basketball included. In the meantime I fell in love with this sport. I was maybe 12 or 13 years old when I started practicing basketball, and as a kid it was nice just having fun with friends and learning about basketball.

My first memory is from my first professional game. It was when I played in the Red Star and we play against Zadar in Croatia, and that was one of the hottest courts in the league. It was very interesting in some way and dangerous but really good to play.

- When did u decide that you are going to be a professional player and who′s the person that helped your career the most?

- It was when I started to understand the basketball like a game much more and I decided to practice much more seriously. I said to myself that one day I want to be professional player and play basketball on the highest level that I can. My family was always my biggest support through all these years so they are that "person" who helped me the most in my career so far and I′m grateful for that

- You have some experience playing in the Balkan League. How do you think the competition has developed over the years?

- This is my third season that playing in the Balkan League and from season to season I can say only that the league goes step-by-step to the higher level -with organizations, with teams, with competition.

- Your season has had ups and downs so far. How do you rate your chances of reaching the semifinals in BIBL?

- The chances for the semifinals are in our hands now. We have two hard games and we must win both of them if we want to go further. I believe this is possible.

- You also made some changes to the roster - do you think you′ve improved as a team and what is your goal in the competition?

- We changed a lot so far this season as this now is our third head coach. We have new systems, new rules but we are already one month with this coach. I think we are improving our game a lot and we have space for more. Our goals are always the highest. We respect everything and everybody but we know what our goals are and what we can do.

- Recently reached the semifinals for the Cup of Macedonia. What did you miss in order to defeat MZT and what will be your goals for the final stage of Macedonian League?

- Our first goal for Macedonian league are the playoffs and after that I hope semifinals. Then in the semifinals everything is possible and open. The point is that we want to play every day and every week better basketball than we played yesterday.

- Tell us a few words what does Aleksej Nesovic likes to do outside the court - when he doesn′t have a practice or a game...

- During the season life of one professional basketball player is not so interesting. If you find some free time you are trying to spend that time to relax and to be with your family, or having fun with friends and spend some quality time with all of them. If I have some break I like to travel a lot to see new cities that I never been in before and make some memories to remember and tell.
