25 more for Mornar and a place in the final

KK Mornar is the first team in the final of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Bar defeated KK Kozuv 81-56 at home in the second leg of the semifinal and overcame a deficit of 15 points in the first one. The hosts managed to take a big lead in the second quarter, then controlled it and in the final two minutes managed to break out and win by what was needed. The visiors fought until the end but for second straight year lost in the semifinals. Nevertheless it was a good season for Kozuv and a big success to reach this far. Mornar will get to know its opponent tomorrow night when Sigal Prishtina hosts Beroe.

Mornar started strong and scored the first 10 points in less than three minutes. Kozuv answered with the next five and then both teams exchanged baskets. The hosts were leading but not with double digits and it was like this until the end of the first quarter which finished with 6 points difference. 

The visitors scored the first three points of the second quarter but then Mornar responded with 15-2 run, including three triples, and suddenly they went up in the overall tie. A few minutes later the lead even reached 19 points and at the break went down to 16. 

The hosts were hanging on to their lead in the third quarter when a 7-0 run for Kozuv cut it to 12. Later it went down to 11 but Mornar scored the next 7 points. Still both teams continued to fight hard and after the third quarter the things were like after the second - Mornar led by 16.

The difference was around 15 points in the fourth quarter as both teams were fighting for their goals. With 3.34 to go the margin was 15 as Marko Mijovic scored two free throws for the hosts. Then as both teams missed Radunovic finally made a basket with two minutes to go and Mornar went up by 19. Then again Kozuv didn′t score and after Mijovic made two more free throws with a little over a minute to go, the contest was over. 

Lamont Jones was the top scorer for the winners with 22 points as five played had double figures. Marko Mugosa had 19 points and Robert Sampson had double-double with 14 and 11 rebounds.

Brandon Penn had a good outing for Kozuv with 18 points and 5 rebounds as Aleksej Nesovic had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
