BIBL to respect Zoran Sutulovic′s career

The Sports Director of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League – Mr. Shay Shtriks – on behalf of the Management of the League - would like to present a special award to Mr. Zoran Sutulovic before the final game of the season between KK Mornar and KB Sigal Prishtina in Bar on April 20th. As in 2016 Mr. Sutulovic finishes his prestigious international career of 17 years as top FIBA referee, BIBL would like to respect and honour him.

Sutulovic has been a part of the Balkan League since its foundation in 2008. Back on October 7th 2008 he officiated the first ever match of the competition when Rilski Sportist defeated Mega Vizura in Samokov. He officiated numerous BIBL games during the years, including one Final 4 in 2010, and his last match will remain the second semifinal between KB Sigal Prishtina and BC Beroe played on March 30th 2016.

Zoran has devoted the last 30 years of his life to officiating. He is a referee since 1986 and became international referee in 1999.

During his international career, Zoran officiated games at the highest possible level. In 2002 he participated in the World Youth Championship in Dallas, USA. Then he was also part of the Suproliga FIBA Final Fours in Istanbul and Kazan. The real peak of his career is 2004 when he officiated at the Olympic Games in Athens, including the unforgettable semifinal between Argentina and USA which the Dream team lost. Afterwards, Zoran officiated also the game for 3/4 place at Eurobasket 2005, the semi-final and Final of Eurobasket 2007 in Spain and the semifinals of Eurobasket 2009 and Eurobasket 2011. Throughout his rich career Sutulovic has also two Finals at FIBA Europe youth national teams championships and two Final Fours of Euroleague as well.
