Bashkimi outplayed Sigal Prishtina, wins for Peja and Trepca as well
KB Bashkimi won the derby of the first round of Kosovo league. The team from Prizren hosted the champions KB Sigal Prishtina and won 89-82.
The first half was even and finished 39-39 but everything changed in the third quarter. After the break Bashkimi came out strong and in ten minutes managed to make a 17-point lead. In the last quarter the visitors tried their best and closed the gap to 4, but then the hosts held on.
Kenuan Johnson was the top performer for the winners with 19 points and 6 rebounds while Robert Lewis had 17 points. Granit Rugova had 26 points for the visitors as Bojan Trajkovski added 14.
KB Peja had an easy start after winning 91-65 away at Ylli. The Yellows were down by 3 after ten minutes but turned the things around after that and had no problems until the end.
Alban Veseli had 19 points for the win while Mirza Ahmetbasic debuted with 17 and 6 rebounds.
KB Trepca also had a winning start to the season. The team hosted Vellaznimi in Mitrovica and won 103-75. The hosts took the early lead and their victory was never in doubt.
Montreal Scott was the top scorer for the win with 22 points while Samir Zekiqi added 19.
