Peja starts with victory
KB Peja took the victory in the last game of the first week in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. At home The Yellows managed to beat the returning MKK Feni Industries 82-73. The hosts led for almost 40 minutes but the visitors were close throughout. However Peja was never really close to giving up the lead and finally won the match.
A 7-2 start for Peja didn′t scare the visitors who responded quickly. They scored the next 7 points and after that the two teams stayed close. The hosts did better at the end of the first quarter and shortly after the second started they increased their advatange to 12 points. They kept it almost until the half finished but Pavic triple at the buzzer closed the gap to 8.
After the break things didn′t change as Peja led by around 10 points and kept some distance. After the middle of the third period the difference reached 15 points which was the biggest so far. After that the teams continued to exchanged points as the hosts were leading and Feni was trying but never really threathened them.
Mirza Ahmetbasic had a good game for the winners and finished with 21 points. LaMarcus Reed did well with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while Alban Veseli added 18 points.
Matija Ceshkovic was the top scorer for Feni with 15 points. Kiril Nikolovski had double-double with 15 and 10 rebounds as Jane Petrovski added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
