Sigal Prishtina survives for a second win

KB Sigal Prishtina won its second straight home game in group A. The BIBL champions needed an overtime to defeat KK Teodo 98-93 in a drama. The visitors had a great chance in the regular time but didn′t score in the final 3.30 minutes and the home side tied the score. Then in the extra period they did better when it mattered and won. After that result Sigal now has 2-2 record while Teodo is with 3-3. Next week the champions will visit Kumanovo while Teodo will play against Kozuv in Gevgelija.

 

It was a very close game in the first quarter before the hosts made a 7-0 run to broke a tie in the final minutes. Vucurovic however answered with a triple for Teodo at the buzzer and after ten the gap was just 4. The home side kept its lead in the second period as the difference was around 8-9 points. The visitors however finished the first half on an 8-3 run to close the gap to just 4.

 

Things didn′t change in the third quarter as Sigal was leading. Teodo though again was holding on and after a 9-0 run near the end the period the visitors suddenly went up by 3. After 30 minutes the difference was 2 but went to 11 after the Montenegrins started the fourth quarter with 9 straight points. With 3.30 to go the visitors lead was 10 but then Sigal stepped it up and cut the deficit to only 2. With 32 seconds to go the hosts had a chance to tie and they did it as Azemi scored.  In the final moments Teodo couldn′t score so the game went to overtime.

 

With two minutes to go in it the visitors took a 1-point lead but Sigal responded bu scoring the next 6 and held on in the final seconds. Teodo had a chance to tie but Vucurovic missed a three-pointer.

 

Jabarie Hinds was the top scorer for the win with 23 points. Malcolm Rhett did very well for a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds while Fisnik Rugova added 14 and 7.


Nikola Vucurovic had a very good coming off the bench to finish with 26 points for Teodo. Radomir Marojevic had 20 and 6 rebounds as Petar Kusovac added 18 and 8.
