KK Karpos Sokoli 2000 won an important game in the 8th round of group B in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The Skopje team defeated KB Peja at home and now is with a good chance of advancing to the Second Stage. Here are some quotes after the game was over:
Dragan Nikolic, head coach of KK Karpos Sokoli 2000: "This was a very tough game for us. We started good like against Trepca a week ago but then we had some troubles. However the finish was good and we got the win we deserved. I wanted to give more chance to the young players but it was a close game and I didn′t want to put them in a position to be guilty if we had lost the game because of their mistakes. Peja is a very good team with a great coaching staff and I think that team can go far in the competition."
Dominik Mavra, player of KK Karpos Sokoli 2000: "We started this match with the desire to win so that we could continueo our winning streak and to get revenge for the loss in Peja. We had control for the whole game and with an excellent finish we managed to get the win which was important for us. Not everything was perfect, we had some bad minutes and we must work hard in the next days to be better prepared."
Bujar Loci, assistant coach of KB Peja: "Karpos Sokoli is a very good team with quality players and coach. We tried something new and we played well until three minutes to go inn the game. Then we made too many turnovers and this is the main reason we lost."
Noah Dahlman, player of KB Peja: "It was an interesting game that unfortunately for us finished with a win for the home team. We fought hard but had some poor executions in the last three minutes and allowed some second chance points to Karpos. We have some highs and lows so far this season and I hope for better."
