Domestic leagues: Beroe lost to the champions

BC Beroe suffered a defeat in Bulgarian league before the BIBL final. The Stara Zagora team visited the champions Lukoil Academic and lost 79-94. That leaves the team third in the standings with 14-8 record and is two wins behind the second Academic Plovdiv with two rounds to go.

It was an even first quarter as the champions pulled away in the second. Their lead reached 19 points at the break and it was 26 at one moment in the second half. That was more than enough as until the end there was no real intrigue.

Shane Gibson had 17 points for Beroe as Brandis Raley-Ross added 16.
