Domestic leagues: First loss for Akademik, easy for Rilski

BC Akademik Bultex 99 suffered its first loss of the season. The Plovdiv team visited Balkan and lost a close game 78-85. It was a tied match from start to finish but the hosts took a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter. A 12-0 run for Akademik got them back the lead but the home side scored the last 7 points of the contest and won the match.

Shakir Smith had 20 points for Akademik as Martin Durchev added 19.

Rilski Sportist had absolutely no trouble in beating Spartak Pleven 84-54 at home. The Samokov team played very well in the first and fourth quarters to build a big lead and their win was never in doubt.

Zlatin Georgiev and Samuel Francis had 16 points apiece as Dimitar Marincheshki added 13.

After four rounds Akademik is leading the standings with 3-1 record while Rilski follows with 2-2 but both teams have played a game more than the others.
