Rilski stopped Akademik Bultex 99 unbeaten run
Rilski Sportist remained the only unbeaten team this season in SIGAL-UNIQUA Balkan League winning on the road against Akademik Bultex 99 with 85-82.
It was extremely even affair in Plovdiv, decided by a single basket by Travis Taylor with 5 seconds to go.
Both teams now have three wins, but Rilski has postponed game from Round 1 to play.
The visiting team had the lead most of the time with the largest gap of 10 points coming in the second qurter.
Akademik restored itself in the third quarter and there were multiple lead changes in the second half.
No one managed to take the initiative but Rilski entered the final minute with 3-point lead.
Isiah Umipig tied at 82 but then Taylor nailed the decider. Akademik had one last chance to tie but it resulted with turnover.
Yordan Bozov completed the score from the free throw line and Vasil Bachev missed with the buzzer.
Bozov and Sheldon Jeter had 15 points each, Taylor added 14 points and 11 rebound.
Isiah Umipig finished with 27 points for Akademik.
