Another drama, another win for Tirana
SK Tirana won its second dramatic game of the week. The Albanians defeated BC Levski 2014 79-76 at home despite being down for most of the time. They took the victory in the final four minutes when the visitors went scoreless and lost their lead. Thanks to that third home win in a row Tirana has 3-2 record while Levski is now with 2-3. Both teams will have a break now and will return to action in December.
It was a very good start to the visitors who were playing well in the first minutes. They went on a 19-8 run for the first close to six minutes and led by double digits until the end of the quarter. In the second though things changed as Tirana stepped it up on defense. Still in the first part of it Levski was leading but the hosts came back in the game with 14-0 run which gave them a point lead. Still the visitors were up by 1 at the break and after an even third quarter the gap remained the same after 30 minutes.
The visitors were in a good position to win as they were leading by 6 with little over four minutes to play. However until the end they didn′t score a single point as Tirana went on a 9-0 run to win it. Abdul-Bassit gave the hosts the lead with a triple in the last minute and then Strowbridge sealed it.
Jalil Abdul-Bassit and Gerti Shima were the top scorers for the winners as they had 22 points apiece. Charles Strowbridge also did well and added 14 points.
Levski was led by 26 points from Kris Minkov as Nikola Maravic had a double-double with 14 and 12 rebounds.
