Domestic leagues: Rilski comes out on top against Akademik, Levski crushed Spartak
BC Rilski Sportist finished the year with a very important win. The Samokov team hosted BC Akademik Bultex 99 and after an exciting contest managed to take a 97-89 victory.
Rilski took the lead early and had it until the break although it wasn′t a big one. Despite the many problems Akademik had, the visitors managed to take a 9-point lead just before the middle of the fourth period. However Rilski tied the score and then took the lead and naver looked back.
Evan Ravenel had a great game with 29 points and 7 rebounds while Derek Wright added 20 points and 11 assists. The visitors were led by Vasil Bachev with 19 points and Martin Durchev who had 18.
BC Levski 2014 also finished the year in style. The Blues hosted the last placed Spartak Pleven and had no trouble to win 108-65. There was really no contest in this match as the hosts led by 10 after just ten minutes. They continued to build on their advantage and had this big victory at the end.
Veselin Veselinov had 29 ponits for the winners as Kris Minkov added 20.
Rilski is first in the standings with 8-3 record but has one more game than both Lukoil Academic and Balkan who have 8-2. Levski follows with 7 wins and 4 defeats while Akademik is 5th with 6-5 record.
