Five in a row for Blokotehna
KK Blokotehna-NB recorded its fifth win in a row in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The Gevgelija team won the first game of the new year in the competition after downing Bashkimi 91-75 away from home. That leaves Blokotehna in first place in the standings with 7-1 record before the derby against Levski Lukoil next week. Bashkimi is fourth with 2-5 record and after seven days will host SK Tirana in an important clash.
Bashkimi started well to go up 6-2 but the visitors scored the next 7 points. After that both teams exchanged basket before Blokotehna pulled away late in the first period. In the second the visitors kept their lead and at one moment stepped up the pace and increased it to double digits. After that players of coach Ilievski controlled the match and never let Bashkimi to have any hopes of a comeback.
Danilo Mijatovic had a big game for the winners finishing with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Dwayne Benjamin added 16 points as Anton Kazarnovski had 13 and 9 rebounds. Huge part in Blokotehna′s success played their three-point shooting after they went 15 of 39.
The top performer for the visitors was Aaron Moss with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Mikaile Tmusic also did well with 19 points as Tyler McDaniels scored 12.
