Strong second half gives Bashkimi third straight win
KB Bashkimi recorded its third straight win in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The Prizren team defeated KK Ibar 100-84 at home to move in to third position in the standings. Next month Bashkimi will play two games in Bulgaria and by winning one of them, the team can finish third. Ibar on the other side is still in last place and the visit against SK Tirana will determine which team will reach the playoffs.
It was a very even and close first half as the teams exchanged baskets and leads. It finished with Bashkimi leading by three points and the team made a push in the third quarter. With the hosts up 7 points they made a 10-2 run to go up by 15. Still Ibar managed to close the gap to 9 at the end of the period but in the fourth one Bashkimi controlled the difference and took the victory.
Vincent Zollo was the top scorer for the winners with 31 points. Altin Morina did very well with 20 and 6 assists while Urim Zenelaj had double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Once again Gerel Simmons was the most active player for Ibar as he finished with 27 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Nedim Felec added 24 points while Danilo Draskovic had 16 and 11 rebounds.
