Domestic leagues: Akademik and Rilski tied the semifinal series
BC Akademik Bultex 99 tied the semifinal series against Balkan. The Plovdiv side won 68-59 at home and will head to Botevgrad now looking to get at least one victory.
Akademik led from the start and for most of the time the difference was in double digits. In the final period however the visitors cut the deficit to just 4 points but the hosts held on.
Dimitar Dimitrov was the top scorer for the winners with 17 points as Aleksandar Gruev had 15.
Rilski Sportist defeated Levski Lukoil 78-77 away and will head home trying to get two wins and go to the final. The visitors started well to take 10-point edge but Levski closed the gap just before the break. In the third period the hosts went up and led almost until the end. Rilski though answered and after Derek Wright scored a triple he put the team with a point ahead and 23 seconds to go. Levski had the final chance but Asen Velikov missed a triple and the visitors won.
Martin Marinov and Yordan Bozov were the top scorers for Rilski with 17 points. Bozhidar Avramov had 18 points for the hosts as Stanimir Marinov added 15.
