A new coach and lot of changes for Barsy Atyrau

BC Barsy Atyrau made some serious changes to the team just before the second part of the season. The Kazakhs changed some of the players while there is also a new coach.

The Latvian Arnis Vecvagars is the one taking over Barsy. He is currently also the head coach of Latvia national team but will also have the chance to work with a club. He signed a contract until the end of the season and will try to improve the team′s performance both in the local Kazakhstan championship and in the Balkan League.

There have been also some changes in the roster of the team with the most notable one being the departure of Pavel Ilyin. The American forward Montrell Dixson has just joined as he is coming from the American Junior basketball league where he played for Chicago. The other new players to the team are Arkadiy Mkrtychyan, Aragad Abramian, Marat Adilkhan, Viktor Verzun and Oleg Balashov.

Barsy has two more games in the Kazakhstan league before the year finishes against Tobol which are really important for the standings. Then in January the team will travel to Albania where it will play three more BIBL matches between January 7th and 11th. Those contests will be against Bashkimi, Teuta and Z Mobile Prishtina.
