Domestic leagues: Win and a loss for Barsy before the trip to Bulgaria
BC Barsy Atyrau exchanged wins with Almaty Legion in the Kazakhstan league. The Atyrau side visited its opponent in a battle for the third place and managed to take one win and suffer one defeat. Tomorrow the team will travel to Bulgaria for its third set of games in the Balkan League.
Barsy lost the first match 70-89. It was a tight game for the first 30 minutes as the hosts led by just four points. In the final quarter however they played much better and managed to win by a good difference.
Arkadiy Mkrtychyan was the top scorer for the visitors with 12 points as Dmitriy Klimov had 11.
Barsy played better in the second game and managed to win it 89-82. The Atyrau team won the first three quarters and took a 15-point advantage which was enough for the final ten minutes.
Bojan Bakic was above all in this game finishing with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Aragad Abramian also did well by scoring 20 points as Mkrtychyan had 15.
Barsy has played a total of 18 games so far and is in fourth place with 10-8 record. The team is in a very good position to secure its place in the semifinals but will try to move a place above in order to avoid the champions Astana in the battle for reaching the final.
