Domestic leagues: Beroe lost the derby at the top, Academic Bultex 99 moves to fourth place
BC Beroe suffered a heartbreaking defeat in Bulgarian league. The Greens visited the leader Levski Lukoil 94-96 in an entertaining game. Twice in it the home team managed to pull away by double digits but both teams the visitors came back. They even took the lead in the last quarter and with 10 seconds to go the score was tied. The home side managed to make a basket while The Greens missed their shot in the final second and eventually lost.
Conner Frankamp had a great game for Beroe finishing with 36 points, including 8 triples from 9 attempts. Tre Coggins also did well by adding 20 points but made some crucial turnovers in the end.
Academic Bultex 99 continued its good recent performance by beating Academic Sofia 91-74 at home. At the break the home side was up by 10 points after winning the first two quarter by 5 each. In the second half the things continued the same way as the hosts were never in trouble.
Aleksandar Gruev was the top scorer for the winners with 19 points as Troy Franklin had 16.
With four rounds to go Beroe is second with 15 wins and 5 defeats while Academic moved to 4th place with 10-10 record.
