A former two times BIBL winner, a team with a lot of exciting young players that are performing hard from start to finish. That's Hapoel Gilboa Galil - the team that will try to disappoint the local fans in Holon at the Delasport Balkan League Final 4. The squad from Gan Ner will meet the hosts Hapoel Holon in the second semifinal on Tuesday and will look to spoil the local celebration.

Hapoel Gilboa Galil was in Group B in the First Stage and won it convincingly. The team finished with 4 wins from four games and made an early statement. The started off by beating Maccabi Haifa at home and then followed it with two straight wins against Ironi Nahariya. Those games practically decided the first place in the group but nevertheless Hapoel played solidly in its last encounter to once again defeat Maccabi Haifa.

Then came perhaps the best game of the season for Hapoel. In the match that had to determine which team would go through to Stage 2, the squad from Gan Ner managed to defeat Maccabi Rishon LeZion away. It was also the first game for Avishay Gordon as head coach of the team and he performed admirably.

With that victory the road to F4 for Hapoel was pretty much open. They started Stage 2 with three convincing wins - over Beroe and TFT at home and then again over TFT in Skopje. Two days later in Stara Zagora came the only defeat in BIBL at the hands of Beroe.

Hapoel Gilboa Galil is now aiming for its third win in the competition which will tie Levski as the most times winner. The head coach Gordon was a player during the first title run so he is hoping to become the first in the competition's history to win the trophy both as a player and a coach. The task is tough but Hapoel Gilboa Galil will give its best and will try to upset Hapoel Holon in the semifinal.
