Ironi Nahariya is the first team from Israel that put an official request to be a part of season 2021/2022 in Delasport Balkan League. The management of the team would like to once again participate in the competition and filled an application.

Delasport BIBL already sent the request from its part to the Israeli federation which will now have to confirm in order to have Ironi Nahariya officially registered.

The team already took part in the competition in season 2020/2021 and played four games in group B together with Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Gilboa Galil. They won twice but it wasn't enough to continue in the next stage. Now the management of the club would like to return and try to perform better.

Ironi Nahariya has been founded in 1970 and has played a total of 17 seasons in the first division, including 9 times in the playoffs.  In 2003 the team reached the final of the league but lost it and then in the following years Ironi went three times to the Final 4 but lost every semifinal. Last year the team reached the final of the Israeli Cup. The team plays its games in "Ein Sara" Sports Hall which has a capacity of 2500 seats.

"I, as the Sports Director of the league, am very proud and happy that Ironi ""Geshem"" Nahariya asked to register to our league. I had the pleasure to officiate and be part of a lot of great basketball games in Nahariya in one of the best basketball arenas in Israel and I'm sure that the benefits for the league and for the team will be huge," was the first comment of Mr. Shay Shtriks.
