Balkan won a friendly tournament

BC Balkan continues with the preparation for the upcoming season. The Greens won a friendly tournament in Pleven after beating Bulgarian cup holders Rilski Sportist 79-76 in the final.

Balkan won after a comeback in the second half in which they went down to 11 points. The Greens though responded to go up in the last quarter as then both sides exchanged points. Balkan took the lead for good with a minute to go as Derrick Marcks managed to keep his cool from the free throw line and the Botevgrad team held on for the victory.

Alihan Demir was the top scorer for the win with 21 points as Marcks had 12.

Other Bulgarian participant in Delasport Balkan League - BC Beroe, also took part in the tournament. The team though lost twice and finished fourth.
