Levski lost the Supercup in a hard battle

Levski started the new season in Bulgaria with a defeat after the current champions lost the battle for the Supercup against Rilski Sportist 85-91.

It was a hard fought and intense game which was decided in the last minute. Rilski took a 14-point lead in the first half but Levski managed to close it to 7 at the break. After it the teams remained close and in the fourth period the champions tied the score numerous times. They had the chance to do so in the final minute but Ventislav Petkov missed a free throw which would have tied the score with 20 seconds to play and then Rilski held on.

Mario Little had its debut for Levski and finished with 20 points. Tsvetomir Chernokojev had 16 with 9 rebounds as Petkov scored 14.
