Levski crushes Akademik in the Group C opener

BC Levski 2014 started in a great way Stage 2 of Delasport Balkan League. In the Group C opener the Blues demolished Akademik Plovdiv 92-58 at home in all-Bulgarian clash. The hosts had a great start to the game both offensively and defensively and after building a big lead, they had no trouble to finish off the game victorious. That puts them on a 2-1 record while Akademik is now at 1-2.

The hosts scored the first 6 points of the game to take the early lead and they never gave it up after. Two 7-0 runs with 3 points for Akademik in between, gave Levski a 15-point lead which was increased to 22 after just one quarter. Things didn’t change much in the second as the difference went to 34 points and the second half remained just a formality.

Ventsislav Petkov was the top performer for the winners hitting 5 triples on his way to 25 points. Mario Little did very well with 17 and 7 assists as Ivica Radic had 15 points.

The visitors were led by Nikolay Nikolov who had 13 points while Vasil Bachev scored 11.
