Nebojsa Vidic: I hope Balkan will play in the Final 4

BC Balkan defeated TFT at home to finish second in Group D and set up a 1/4 final clash with KB Sigal Prishtina. Here is what coach Nebojsa VIdic had to say following the game in Botevgrad:" I expected to win, but not that they will come without two players. We needed this win in order to bring back our dignity and to show that Balkan’s academy exists. Young players’ progress is obvious. I feel sorry that in every game I don't give them a chance. I told one of them that I am not the one who gives them minutes , but their teammates. We did not have a chance for young players to play. I wanted to give them more time and today there were more possibilities for fans to see them, especially two guys from Botevgrad.
I have been watching two times Sigal Prishtina, also against Levski on Thursday. They are a good team with a serious coach. They had some problems with the roster, I don't know why some players did not play. It is very difficult to play in their gym. There are two games. Of course, we go to Kosovo to win, so I hope Balkan will play in the Final 4."
Alexander Gavalyugov had the best game of his young career finishing with 14 points and 4 assists. Here are his words following the win:
“To be honest I did not expect such a game. I thought TFT would jump to win one game in the second stage. When we saw their group, we did not think it would be an easy game, but nobody thought that we could have such a difference. Probably our advantage was in our quality and that we are the younger team. They have older players who play at a slower tempo.
We had a good percentage, very good defence and limited them to only 53 points, which is very good. When we had three losses in a row we were in a bad period, but after the game in Plovdiv we played better, with more mood and motivation. I am sure we will continue to improve our level and we will be much better in the next games. Definitely i think we have improved in our play and have more confidence.
When I started to play with the senior team, it was very difficult for me, because it is a very different style than with my age. I immediately changed from youth basketball to senior level, where the game is more physical and the games are played at a higher speed. There were things I heard to exist for the first time. It was also difficult for me to learn. I feel much more improved than at the beginning of the season and this is beautiful, that i improve my level.
Balkan can overcome every opponent no matter which one we play against. I expect two difficult games against Sigal Prishtina, but we will beat them and advance to the Final 4."
