As Stage 2 is over, it’s time to announce who the best player was during those few weeks in March and April. BC Balkan were on the market for a new player under the basket and at the end of February found the one they were looking for – Christian Jones. He did perform really well in Stage 2 and deserved to be elected as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of Stage 2.Jones finished Stage 2 with the highest efficiency rating of all players – 22.0. He achieved it thanks to 14.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the four games his team played. Balkan did win three of them and it was enough to finish second in Group D and advance to the ¼ finals where the team will try to qualify for the Final 4.
Jones had also very good shooting percentages. He had 64.5% for 2points going 20 for 31 in the four games while also missing its only two three-point attempts.
The American had his highest efficiency rating in the away win over TFT but, interestingly enough, it was the only one in which he didn’t have a double-double. In the important win over Ironi Nahariya he finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds and was a key contributor for a nice performance by his team.
Now Jones and Balkan will be preparing to meet SIgal Prishtina on Thursday and next week and will try their best to qualify for the Final 4.
