Delasport Balkan League, season 14 – the summary
13-05-2022 | 16:17
We are almost two weeks off the final of Delasport Balkan League’s 14th season. Another one has passed and once again we witnessed a lot of interesting clashes and once again a new winner – Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion.A total of 84 games were played this season and the competition was at a good level, as it was rare to see one-sided games. Especially in Stage 1 the score is 26 home wins to 24 away wins which testifies how tough was the battle to advance.
There were also some very good individual performances with one standing out – that of Billy Rae Ivey. He had two games with over 30 points, including scoring 41 in his KK Navico Akademija FMP defeat to Levski at home.
Now that the season is over, the management of the competition has already started thinking about and preparing the new season which will be 15th in a row.
There will be a meeting at FIBA headquarters – Patrick Baumann House of Basketball with the Balkan federation that had teams in last season’s edition plus representatives of Israel, Greece and Romania. One of the topics will be the new BIBL Women League along with the extension of Delasport Balkan Men League.
The management Delasport BIBL wishes to all the teams, that are still performing, good luck in the final stages of their respective leagues and then a fruitful and healthy summer. We’ll be back soon with more updates about the future of the competition.
